Pune to host seminar to address equitable access and inclusion in early childhood care and education
A two-day 'National Seminar on Early Childhood Care and Education: Today and Tomorrow' is going to be organized on September 25 and 26 at Indian Institute of Education (IIE), Pune, which is supported by Indian Council of Social Sciences Research.

The objectives of the Seminar on Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) are the documentation of efforts made at national and international level for advocacy of ECCE; holding deliberations on practices in ECCE to address issues related to equitable access and inclusion and sharing the views and ideas to improve the quality of ECCE in public and private institutions.

IIE Pune was founded by noted humanist J.P. Naik. The philosophy of decolonization of knowledge with praxis of challenging educational orthodoxy was carried forward by his wife Chitra Naik. Presently, the institution is working on interdisciplinary aspects of social sciences.

Some other areas of work of the institute are the health studies, minority studies, tribal studies and studies in inclusive education are the leitmotivs of teaching, research and pedagogy at the Indian Institute of Education.

The two main principles of the Indian Institute of Education are “education for all” and “health for all”. The Indian Institute of Education considers education as a revolutionary endeavor.

The institute believe that the revolution in life and a revolution in education have always to go together, because education is life, and education has to be totally socialized and humanized where passion for the marginalized and the wretched of the earth remains its philosophical motif.
